Blue Point Brewing Company Cask Ales Fest

What’s better on a spring Saturday than kicking back with friends, the finest in food truck cuisine, and beer after beer after beer from more than 60 breweries around the country? If that sounds like a day in heaven, head over to the Blue Point Brewing Company in Patchogue for their 14th annual Cask Ales Fest!

This is one of the biggest real ale festivals in the whole country and it’s right here in Long Island. For those who may not be among the cask cognoscenti, real ale is a natural product using traditional ingredients and left to mature in the cask container from which it’s eventually served. It’s about as different from typical big-brewery processed beer as your own homemade bread is from three-month-old Wonder.

So bring a designated driver (or make sure you have Uber downloaded) and spend Saturday enjoying the best in brews, live music, LI’s own Blue Point oysters and other delicious fare. Everyone who attends is encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation for the Long Island Cares Harry Chapin Food Bank. Festival runs from 2 pm - 6 pm, and costs $60 for general admission, $35 for designated driver.
