72nd Annual Shinnecock Pow-Wow

If you’ve never been to a Native American Pow-Wow, you’re in for a treat for all senses. Singing. Dancing. Tribal attire, headdresses, jewelry, tools and artifacts. Demonstrations and celebrations. And plenty of food and refreshments, both contemporary and culturally inspired.

USA Today called the Shinnecock gathering one of 10 Great Pow-Wows for its traditional dance and drum performances and its focus on native arts and crafts. And this festival really puts the Wow in Pow-Wow with more than 100 other tribes traditionally invited to attend.

The event runs for four days (Friday through Monday) Labor Day Weekend, August 31 - September 3 rain or shine, with grand entry on Friday at 7pm. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, children (6-12) & veterans with military ID and children under 5 get in free! No pets, please.
