Wolffer Estate Harvest Party

Since wineries began, there have probably been Harvest Festivals, where workers celebrated the annual grape harvest by sampling some of what their labors had wrought. That’s exactly the spirit of the Harvest Party at the Wolffer Estate Vineyard, with an afternoon of food and wine on the expansive lawn, with a giant dollop of other fun thrown in.

It’s a family-friendly event, with adults enjoying the wine and live music (you’re welcome to dance), and kids delighting in pony rides, hayrides and a petting zoo. Kids of every age enjoy barrel-rolling, grape-stomping and a wine-making relay race. There are more events than ever this year, but the star is still the food and wine – dishes are by Palo Santo, Rolling in the Dough, and Fresh Flavors, and the wine and ciders are from Wolffer (of course.)

Celebration runs from noon-4:30. Tickets must be purchased ahead, and are $154 a person for adults; $85 for minors (3-20), free for under 3s (but they still need a ticket.) Price includes food and drink.  It’s worth noting that Wolffer has partnered with Lyft, which will offer a discount, so you can ferry to and from wherever you’re staying without a designated driver if you like. See website for details.
