Greenport Village First Fridays Art Walk

Just because the weather is cold doesn’t mean that Long Island’s most charming coastal villages have gone into hibernation.  Case in point: Greenport Village’s First Fridays Art Walk, which takes art and culture lovers on a short walking tour around the charming hamlet’s main streets and best galleries.

Greenport’s premier galleries and artists studios will be open all evening on Friday, December 6. You’ll be able to see New York’s most up and coming artists, with many galleries hosting previews of new exhibits and works, as well as artist talks and open mics.

Better yet, the whole community has gotten involved to make this a night to remember. Between contemplating modern paintings and sculpture, you can pop into Greenport Harbor Brewing Company for local beers made on premise, or Kate’s Cheese Co. to savor a sublime charcuterie plate. With six galleries and twelve local businesses participating, you can make a full and fantastic night out that will leave you feeling inspired and cultured – and end up at a cute inn or B&B (the 10-room Gallery Hotel is right on Main Street, and the Harborfront Inn might be a great choice, too – it’s pretty central!)

Greenport Village First Fridays Art Walk will take place on Friday, December 6th from 6 to 9 pm. The evening is free, with a beautiful map of the art walk created by local illustrator Kara Hoblin provided at all participating galleries, shops, and restaurants – or find it on the website above.
